Wishing you a blessed Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, the Theotokos! The theological syllogism is as follows: If Jesus is God, and if Mary gave birth to Jesus, then that makes her the Theotokos. Any departure from this truth is a Christological error, a denial of Jesus’s divine nature. So, in celebrating her role in the Incarnation, we celebrate our Lord Jesus. Happy New Year!
